Acupuncture and IVF
According to Paulus, Zhang, El-Danasouri, Strehler and Sterzik, writing in Fertility and Sterility in April 2002, the success rate of IVF can be increased by nearly 50% by using acupuncture (42.5% versus 26.3% for the control group). For the purposes of the study, acupuncture was given 25 minutes before and 25 minutes after embryo transfer.
According to Dr. Lifang Liang, “in this study, women received acupuncture along the spleen and stomach channels in an attempt to relax the uterus and improve the flow of energy to this region”.
Acupuncture and Migraine
Report taken from a review of available research - ‘overall the evidence supports the hypothesis that acupuncture is effective in the treatment of migraine’.
